Thanks for your report. What about the ‘slow’ aperture of just being 4? Didn’t you miss a bigger one out in the field?

slightly slower THAN some of the other.
NOT: “slightly slower then some of the other”

Hm, the comment section here doesn’t make sense, if the authors don’t reply. That is really a pity 🙁

I read a lot of good review about this lens so I brought one a few months ago. I find the focus length perfect for travel and I usually also bring along the 7-14mm Pro. This lens stay on my camera 90% of the time. Chris commented this lens is very flare resistant. I don’t know if it is the problem of my copy. I do find flare a problem and in fact it is the main complaint I have on this lens. This causes problem especially in scene against cloudy sky. Compared to the Canon 24 -100 f4 that I used regularly before, I didn’t find flare a problem on similar scene.

I have to refute my comment on flare problem of the Olympus 12-100 f4 pro. I found later the flare may be caused by the UV filter I attached on the lens. I now replaced a better filter and shall take more pictures to test it again. My apology for the inappropriate comment.
