Should OM System bring back the Mju?
I am an avid photographer in LA and a long-time Olympus shooter. Olympus has always been my favorite brand.
These days, it is very difficult to find Olympus cameras on the secondary market. They have become extremely popular, especially the older E-P and E-PL models. Many people are seeking them out as a more affordable alternative to the increasingly expensive Fuji cameras. That gave me a great idea.
I think it is time for a digital update of the Olympus Mju, something that Maitani himself would be proud of.
A simple point-and-shoot camera with a fixed lens and a Micro Four Thirds sensor would be incredible.

Many people buying cameras today, such as the Fuji X-half or the Ricoh GR, are simply looking for an easy camera to take beautiful photos. They do not necessarily need 4K video or a long list of special features, since they already have a smartphone for that. What they are missing, and what they truly crave, is the nostalgic, film-like quality of older cameras such as the Olympus Mju and the XA. They want a straightforward photographic tool that fits in a pocket and produces great photos.
I have attached a few simple renders for a digital update of the original Olympus Mju film camera.
I am certain they would fly off the shelves.
Cheers,
Adam

Absolutely agree, I remember talking directly to OM about this a while ago…Photography is trying to be simple again for a lot of people, that just want to document existence rather than getting lost in tech specs…

Yep; if priced right (whatever that is at the time) I would get another . View finder would be great but that also add to the size so 🙁
The original was used as a fun wedding camera or ”break the ice” camera.
Even sold a 16×20 inch wedding photo —- used 1600 asa film but mum loved the smile LOL
Was a handy little press camera that the “big” boys laughed at until ‘ I ‘ got front page .
I also had the MJU wide, often with Fuji 800 colour and BW in the little one
Cheers
