An excellent review of the two cameras. I have just upgraded to the E-M1X from the E-M1 Mark II. It truly is an amazing imaging device with technology that goes above and beyond other professional devices.

OMD-Systems has recently filed copyrights for what is rumored to be
the next generation E-M1X. It is expected to be introduced during the
fourth quarter of this year. (Nov/Dec 2021)

Thank you very much for this great review of two great, outstanding camera bodies! In only use the MIT + MKIII and In am happy with both. Never had the chance to test the 1X yet… If it comes to mindestens that I need another body, I will think about the X, thanks to this article.

Sorry, wrote my comment on a smartphone and so the autocorrection corrected words from English into German… I use the MKII and the MKIII of the E-M1 bodies. Being more than happy with both!

Now I need to try the E-EMIII’s hand held high resolution on the Moon.

My hardest workouts for the E-1X have been with surfers. The latest episode, June 6, had remarkably sharp results using an Olympus 300mm f/4 lens.

The new WOW camera to be ..what will it be . I have used the E-M1X since the start together with the 300mm Pro and specifically in wildlife photography and travel ….. i was amazed and i amazed soo many others . With its size quality and stabilisation. Also the handling is great for my big hands , for the follow-up software upgrades I am disappointed .

E-M1x being offered by Olympus in it current factory refurb sale at $1,299. This is unheard of and suggests strongly to me that a new e-M1xii will be announced this month. Olympus seems to be clearing the decks for its new model. At $1,299 it proved to be a deal too good to ignore for me.

I’m relatively new to the M43 system and recently became part of this community just two months ago when I started using the Olympus E-M5 Mark II. I’ve grown to love this system, and I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Olympus OM-D E-M1X. I also use the M1X with greater number of keepers than I had with Canon Camera’s due to the slower capture rate of the Canon’s I used. I am passing on the OM-1, since I love the feel of the M1X and dual batteries. I am waiting for an upgraded OM-1X which should include faster tracking and auto focus; Starry Sky’s; a larger sensor (SONY made a 30 pixel 4/3 sensor a few years back, which has not been brought to the market as far as I know. OM is going to loose market share if they do not bring out a new 1X. We will not wait much longer.
